B O L D is a dance collective based out of new york and new jersey
directed by Bo Belza.
Established in 2018, B O L D has had the opportunity to perform throughout NJ, NY, Boston and Toronto and showcase their work for multiple events/shows including - Leg Up On Life, Elements, The Warmup and Prelude. They’ve also had the opportunity to work for companies such as Alex Mill, Metaversal and 9dcc. A group of leaders, teachers, and amazing dancers, Bo hopes to use B O L D to showcase the many talented artists to enrich the community from which they came from. It's been an honor and privilege to share energy and ideas on and off stage from a group he can call his friends.

Do you ever feel insecure about who you are? where and how you fit in? Have you ever felt imposter syndrome? You think everyone is against you, and learn that they too are also in the same boat as you. As creatives we tend to be our worst critics. This is the journey of how imposter syndrome takes over, but finding our way out of that hole and knowing that everyone also goes through the same things.

This set is probably my favorite to date.
In horoscopic astrology, Saturn return is an astrological transit that occurs when the planet Saturn returns to the same place in the sky that it occupied at the moment of a person's birth. The Saturn return hits in the late 20s and its impact is felt into the early 30s. It’s a time of renewal and growth. It's about letting go of what doesn't serve you Letting go of relationships, jobs, any past regrets. In my 31 years I’ve experienced a lot - both good and bad. I’ve met an abundance of people and have made many friends because of dance. And although some people come and go, there are ones who have taught me lessons, guided me through rough patches, and supported me through this journey. This set is to represent the emotion, the struggle, the loves, the loss, the journey, the support, the people who've lead me to where i am today. This is the first time putting something super personal on stage and artistically different. A huge huge thanks to my cast for being there for me and trusting me and for bringing this vision to life.

Although I have been choreographing sets under my name, I wanted to create a collective that was attached to it. Dancing to the sounds of Sabrina Claudio, this became the hallmark of what was next for B O L D as a group.

We got invited to perform at NJIT’s Finest’s Reign or Shine 2019. We all had a really busy schedule, so we only had time for one rehearsal. LOL.
